| Q: What does an EMT-I do? A: An Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (A-EMT) is the entry-level certification for an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider. EMTs typically work on an ambulance responding to medical / trauma emergencies. EMTs can also work in other areas including private transportation, hospital emergency departments and fire / rescue agencies. There are no pre-requisite courses needed for the AEMT program, but the student must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED prior to taking the Certification Exam and have up to date immunizations.Q: What do you learn in class? Cancellations will only be permitted up to the course start date. A full refund, if applicable, will be issued for permitted cancellations. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellation requests received after the course start date. ERTSS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course due to lack of pre-registered student enrollment. Should it be necessary to cancel or reschedule a class, notification will be done ten business days prior to the course start date at which time a full refund, if applicable, will be issued
