AHA Course Roster Requirements
The American Heart Association (AHA) requires that an approved Course Roster be completed for each AHA Course that is taught, including any Classroom or Blended Course offering. The Course Roster is vital to document the type course, date, time, location, Instructor(s), student attendance and testing results.
Before an AHA Certification eCard can be issued to a student, the course roster must document that student's successful completion of the course and all it's requirements. AHA eCards cannot be issued to students until the Course Roster has been completed.
The Course Roster also documents the Instructor's teaching activity and Instructor recertification requirements. ( 4 teaching credits - courses in a 2 year recertification period. )
The Course Roster is the official document that is used to verify all the above!
* Note: According to the AHA PAM and the ERTSS Affiliation Agreement, Instructors must keep Original Course Rosters for at least three (3) years from the course date and be able to produce these original or original digital copy documents to the TC as requested.
Course Roster Information To The TC
After the completion of the course and completion of the Course Roster, instructors must issue AHA eCards to all students that successfully completed the AHA Course. The student must receive their Course Specific eCard within twenty (20) days from the completion date.
Forward a copy of your completed Course Roster to the TC within 3 days of the Course Completion Date.
If using the ERTSS Online Roster, login and complete the Online Roster form and submit the course and payment information and ERTSS will issue the student eCard for you. The Online Roster database will store the required information for you. You may also attach a digital copy of your completed Course Roster during this process. You must still keep the original Course Roster that was completed onsite at the time of the course for three (3) years and provide that to the TC if requested.
If using the eCard Store to purchase eCards and then issue to the students at the time of the course, the TC requires the Instructor to account where the ecards are going and provide Supporting Course Roster information.
1. If using theAHA Atlas platform to create "Classes" and automatically issue eCards to students once the class is finalized, the course information is provided there. Instructors must keep the original Course Roster as outlined above.
2. If you are issuing eCards directly to you students using the ecard distribution tool in your Atlas account, you are required to provide the Supporting Course Roster documentation to the TC documenting this activity within three(3) days of the course completion. Failure to provide this Supporting Course Roster information to the TC will result in limited or forfeit use of the Bulk eCard Order Form.
