The American Heart Association offers their BLS ( Basic Life Support) course in a Blended format.

The blended format includes both “Online eLearning and Classroom Skill Sessions”

The eLearning portion of the BLS blended learning course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for CPR and AED training. Upon completion of the online portion, students must complete hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor. This format provides the student with the convenience of completing the course at their own pace wherever they have access to the Internet. It includes interactive exercises and videos to engage students and provide periodic points of knowledge transference, along with audio and transcript for students who may have a hearing or visual disability, and much more.

BLS is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning (online portion), in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session.
