TC Faculty Position – ERTSS

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Training Center Faculty (TCF) are responsible for quality assurance and is the educational leadership of the Training Center (TC). This includes teaching the Instructor Essentials Course(s) as well as monitoring New Instructor Candidates. The number of TCF members is determined by the needs of the TC. TCF members serve only in the TC from which they are appointed. A TCF member’s status is not transferable between TCs. TCF members who move from TC to another must reapply for TCF status in their new TC and are subject to acceptance by that TC.

Minimum CRITERIA for ERTSS TCF Application

■ Current Active Instructor (HS, BLS, ACLS, or PALS) for a minimum of Three years
■ Current AHA Instructor Quality Score of at least 85 for the discipline
■ No open or ongoing complaint investigations by the TC



Minimum Criteria For ERTSS TCF Appointment:

■ Demonstrate Both written and skills competency for the discipline(s)
■ Demonstrate a working knowledge of the AHA Atlas Network including the use
of eCards and My Courses tools.
■ Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Program Adminstration Manual
(PAM)
■ Demonstrates competencies regarding TCF education materials and monitoring
forms.
■ Has received positive evaluations of teaching ability from students
■ Successful Completion of TCF orientation before conducting first Instructor course

METHOD OF APPOINTMENT/REAPPOINTMENT

■ Appointed and reappointed by TC, which sets the term served by TCF members.
TC Faculty Position Appointments are for a two (2) year term. The TC reviews and
determines all TCF reappointment terms. TCF may or may not be reappointed to
future terms.

TC Faculty Term Dates

TC Faculty shall serve a 2 year term starting July 1st and ending on June 30th of the Odd Year.
ERTSS will issue TCF Certificates with Term Dates

RESPONSIBILITY

■ Serves as an expert resource on ECC issues and protocols to Instructors, and
staff.
■ Conducts Instructor Courses for the TC while adhering to AHA guidelines.
■ Supports Chain of Survival initiatives in the community.
■ Responsible for TCF development by conducting updates/training for TC.
■ Oversees quality assurance at the TS level.
■ Monitors New Instructor Candidates for initial Instructor Certification
■ Monitors current Instructors’ teaching ability and completes required
documentation.
■ Teaches at least four (4) Instructor courses every two years.
■ Attend required TCF meetings/updates at the TC.
■ Cultivates and mentors TC Instructors, New Instructors, and potential candidates
for future Instructor/TCF positions.
